Episode Recap
Picking up directly from the last episode, the heroes find themselves caught in Colonel Graakthar’s violent insurrection within the heart of Qaszrafa. Graakthar has turned the city's own siege equipment against it, making the walls and gates his fortress. Under the guidance of General Thistledern, the group is charged with retaking either the North Tower, which holds a crucial armory, or the South Tower, where civilians are sheltering. Choosing between these towers becomes a tactical and moral decision, influenced by advice from key allies like Ambassador Sunfire and Chief Garuk.
With their chosen tower captured, they open a path for Qaszrafan royal guards and crusaders, allowing for a united assault on the gate’s control house. As the battle reaches its peak, the Mortal Guardians encounter Colonel Graakthar in a climactic clash, where he has transformed into a giant, wielding dark magic and bolstered by loyal corrupted soldiers. Through a combination of brute force and strategic maneuvers—such as baiting Graakthar under barrages of boiling oil or debris from the towers—the heroes manage to bring him down and secure the gates just in time to hold back the invaders.
Their victory, however, is short-lived. As they regroup, one of their own, Emmie, experiences a powerful vision from the seer Dralkarn: the earth itself cracks open in the city courtyard, signaling the summoning of a monstrous demon by the Ylvogganite seers. Racing back to the heart of the city, the group faces Arammog’s dark magic and a terrifying skeletal wyrm, whose strength is tied to a corrupted ritual circle. The adventurers must disrupt this arcane connection before the demon can fully manifest.
After overcoming these demonic foes, the heroes glimpse Arammog himself outside the city walls, wielding the twisted weapon Viszigrav as he begins a ritual to resurrect Nelzyrrath, an ancient dragon of destruction. The heroes grapple with the ominous realization that the battle is far from over.
