Episode Recap
The episode opens with the characters racing back to Qaszrafa, only to find its gates closed, guarded by soldiers and Sentorrian crusaders who keep desperate refugees at bay. An ally warns them that Colonel Graakthar has branded them as traitors, charging them with a plot to destroy the city’s defenses. Forced to sneak into the city, they reunite with allies who reveal that General Thistledern suspects treachery but needs proof to challenge Graakthar’s influence.
Tracking Graakthar to an ancient monument’s hidden chapel, the Guardians discover him negotiating with Ylvogganite agents. A fierce battle ensues, and when Graakthar begins to lose, he transforms into a stone giant and escapes, signaling his own Vogghrune warriors to storm Thistledern’s headquarters. Rushing to defend their allies, the Guardians face Graakthar’s sinister lieutenant, Torkarath Bloodthorn, a druid corrupted by demonic powers. With Thistledern and Qaszrafa’s prince beside them, the Guardians repel the attack. But Graakthar has fled to the city’s walls, where he opens Qaszrafa’s gates to the oncoming Ylvogganite hordes. As the sun sets, a blood-red moon rises, heralding a brutal night for the city.
