Episode Introduction
The Mortal Guardians have broken the illusory defenses of Herald R’Xahl’s protective psionic curtain and begun the impossible siege of her fortress. Our heroes now lead the charge hoping to crash through her zealous armies and stop her profane ritual before it completes—before she can raise to life the massive and hideously evil dead remnants of the old god, Zul-Thuun. Alongside their many allies, the Guardians press forward into battle against untold horrors, bringing light to darkness and hope to the world.

Episode Recap
The intrepid and courageous heroes of the Mortal Guardians gathered their forces and charged against the unbreakable walls of the herald’s ghastly, evil fortress. On the backs of their shadow dragon allies, they led an assault on the defender’s of the herald’s walls and quickly breached a heavily fortified siege engine. After destroying this vile device, they opened the way for more troops to enter R’Xahl’s castle and engage her coven and undead forces.
With the walls defeated, the Guardians turned their focus to thwarting Herald R’Xahl and her allies in the conduct of a deviant ritual that would raise the corpse of Zul, a long dead old god for ages past. In a stroke of brilliance, they turn a captured siege machine inward and blast a hole into the chamber where the ritual was being held—by none other than the nefarious lich, Eryaphos Annokrates. In a daring effort, our heroes battled the last servants of the herald and at last engaged Annokrates himself at the center of the ritual chamber.
In a final moment of hubris, however, Annokrates sacrificed his undead form to deliver a masterstroke: he activated the final power supply of the ritual and drove its hideous purpose to completion. Moments later, the dread monstrosity rose: the corpse of Zul, an ancient, aberrant creature as large as a small city. It climbed upwards over the vast ritual chamber and grew to unspeakable heights—before gazing down at the Mortal Guardians, ready to unleash the herald’s prophesied doom upon the world.
