Episode Recap
As the Mortal Guardians continue their efforts in Cindervaeld, they receive a visit from one of their newest allies: Lady Clarissiel Messendara, daughter of the lord of her house. Clarissiel brings news of great importance: one of her friends, a young woman by the name of Roslinda, claims that she knows the identity of a ranking member of the Coven of Zul. Upon meeting the Guardians, she divulges that Selwyn Caerdegar, a noteworthy bard and professor of arcane music at the Laschaille Royal Academy of Cindervaeld, is secretly a member of the coven using his authoritative position to recruit new members from the city’s elite students of music. Our brave adventurers also quickly discover that Roslinda has been cursed with a fiendish malady: her soul has been claimed by devils at the direction, Roslinda claims, of Selwyn himself. The Mortal Guardians pursue Selwyn to his home and confront him there only to discover the truth: Selwyn and Roslinda had shared a tryst, and while he is in fact a member of the coven, she sought vengeance against him for a lover’s slight and bargained with a devilish power all on her own. Selwyn escapes justice, but not before the Mortal Guardians are able to gather crucial evidence of his doings—and they are able to resolve Roslinda’s fiendish predicament… for now.
